Indian wedding in Santa Margherita Ligure
Bollywood comes to town!
The Indian couple, Nindy and Hetul, chose Santa Margherita Ligure to celebrate their wedding in a more than ever mediterranean style.
The day of their dreams, started with the sunset of their pre-wedding’s eve, when Moroccan music and a belly dancer accompanied the typical customs of the Indian tradition: the dressing of the bride, the application of special flavoured ointments and saffron powder together with the “bindi” on her forehead as a good omen (the small drop shaped shining stone).

In the twilight, their guests, wrapped in the generous colours of traditional saris, transformed the light hearted atmosphere in a real party, with dances that gave evidence to their affection for Nindy and Hetul and the joy to be there.
With the fall of the night, everything became more and more magic, when the wedding couple and their friends recreated a piece of starry sky by releasing enlightened red candles on the water.
The embrace between the Italian and the Indian cultures culminated in their wedding day.
The set up and the dresses for the Indian ceremony were softly characterised by white and peach pink colours, where the couple, sitting barefoot facing each other and enclosed in the same necklace, confirmed their will to be joined together in the ritual of the fire, witness of the conjugal liaison, and with the exchange of garlands, in perfect harmony with earth and nature.

At the end of the ceremony, rose petals fell on the newly-weds and after a vegetarian buffet, the women of Nindy’s family greeted the new couple, crying, as to represent the symbolic detachment from the original family.
In the afternoon, the colours of the party naturally glided into white and lace. The sweet sound of the harp accompanied the romantic civil ceremony that took place on the magnificent terrace of the Villa.
The reception then continued with an Italian style cocktail party in the gardens of the park, completed by a splendid wedding cake placed on the well of the terrace on a whirlwind of white tulle, flowers and candles.
…and finally bollywood dances until late night!
