The whole world and a wedding in Puglia
We love weddings which are totally about the couple’s personality and are serious in their meaning of sharing such an important moment of commitment for life, yet fun in their design and use of colour.
This is how I like to describe Daphne and Klas’s fabulous wedding, shared with 160 guests coming to Puglia in the south of Italy from literally all over the world…
Around one year and a half before their wedding Daphne who lives in China, but has Italian-Lybian origins and Klas who is Swedish thought to get married in Italy. After having done a lot of researches around various possible Italian destinations they picked the southern part of Italy, known as the Puglia region, with its golden coastline, beautiful sandy beaches and clear blue sea.
Given their two different origins and being both jewish, they decided on a setting and style that reflected their heritage throughout the day.
Although all communication with the bride was done through email, she took great care when deciding on the style of her wedding and the details involved in creating a light and airy atmosphere that suited the location.
It was a warm and sunny Sunday afternoon when they celebrated their love on the beach with a Jewish rite. Speeches, emotions, happiness and music made the ceremony simply amazing. As a poetic ceremony closure Daphne and Klas, launched chinese lanterns in the blue sky to symbolically release worries and problems and start a new and fresh life together!
For the reception to follow, the rich aperitif was served in the outdoor area of a wonderful Seaside Resort in Puglia.
The reception venue was simply cool and sophisticated and the atmosphere was enhanced by a beautiful and romantic sunset.
Deep orange and blue were not only the colours of the sunset and of the sea: deep orange for all the little details and the ceremony flowers, tall blue flower decorations and modern lights for the table setting as the bride desired!
A gourmand dinner in pure Italian style and local folk dance to follow for everyone made the party a great fun. It was simple and modern. It wasn’t fussy or frilly… it wasn’t big and it wasn’t traditional. It was quintessentially them.
Besides crafting a day that was creative and colorful this couple offered their guests a whole week of activities: trips, shopping, cooking courses, golf and themed evenings. This was surely an original way to celebrate a special occasion with relatives and friends!
