Winter wedding in Rome
Who said that winter weddings in Italy should be planned only in the many mountain resorts that dot the Alps?
Italian cities of art are also perfect settings for a truly special and romantic winter wedding.
A winter wedding in Rome, Florence or Venice is a dream that comes true!
The atmosphere is magical with very few tourists and all the history and ancient charm of the cities will be reserved for yourself.
Our lovely couple decided to tie the knot in Rome in the very heart of the eternal city to feel every beat of a city with thousands years of history.
Winter season and Christmas decorations definitely added a sparkle to the day and a dramatic sky over historical and famous monuments did the rest!
The catholic ceremony was held in Rome, in San Giorgio al Velabro church.
Located in so called Velabrum, the area that connects the Roman Forum to Capitoline Hill and Palatine hill, it is the very center of Ancient Rome.
Attached to the church is a stunning ancient Roman arch called Arch Argentariorum… this is exacltly what Rome is: a crossroad of history, perfect mix of ages and style.
For the occasion the church was decorated all in white with a mix of greenery, candles and a touch of red berries to pick up the wintery and christmasy atmosphere.
Ceremony was planned for late afternoon…days in winter are shorter so candlelight can be really appreciated!
Following the romantic ceremony, a wonderful Vintage Rolls Royce was waiting to take the couple for little tour of Rome with some special and unforgettable pictures in the center of Rome by Altare della Patria, Piazza Venezia and the steps of Campidoglio.
Weather in Rome is mild also in winter so a lovely walk for wedding pictures is a relaxing private time for bride and groom!
Bride and groom took the car to reach their reception venue, only few streets from the church in Via dei Fori Imperiali.
Close to Piazza Venezia, a wonderful historical building renewed right after second world war was the setting for the wedding reception.
The palace has impressive interiors which still preserve the elegant and stylish decors. It’s like flipping back in the book of dreams!
A simple table arrangement with ivory colors and tall candelabra with smooth light of candles added a romantic touch to the evening.
An unusual squared cake and then dances with open bar, wedding sparklers and sweet buffet including fruit and dark hot chocolate fountain, ideal to warm up a winter wedding night in Rome!
