Jane and Paul’s wedding in Florence: simply elegant and romantic!

When they first visited this wonderful villa in Florence, Jane and Paul were young students and they immediately fell in love with it! They started dreaming they could once get married in Tuscany right in this amazing villa overlooking Florence.Their dream wedding came true last May and we are proud to say we have been part of it!

Jane and Paul are Canadian, but live and work in Dubai. Their guests, coming from all over the world for this special occasion, have shared with them an unforgettable stay in the exclusive hotel that features one of the best views over Florence!

Natural, elegant and romantic were the key words for Jane and Paul’s Italian wedding. They wanted to enjoy and respect the beauty of the setting without distorting it therefore they chose local flowers and pastel coloured decorations, which simply underlined and emphasized it.

The ceremony was celebrated in the intimate lemon garden belonging to the Villa, a marvellous atmosphere enriched by a soft touch of white and nuances of green which spring has gently offered. Ivory peonies with a cream ribbon for Jane’s bouquet and yellow ranunculus for her bridesmaids.

The cocktail reception was served by the pool where guests really enjoyed a true Tuscan wedding with delicious local specialities and traditional Italian music played by an entertaining Tuscan folk trio that delighted the guests with tunes such as O Sole Mio, Volare and Buonasera signorina.

The dinner was served in the main garden featuring stunning views over the city, the perfect background for a romantic wedding in Florence!

On the tables all kinds of spring flowers in pastel pink, lilac, white and green in glass vases of different sizes. What could be more romantic than a candlelit dinner under the moon? To light the dinner area we therefore chose a lighting balloon, a special “moon light” ! A surprising natural effect for a magical night!

After cutting the cake, dancing went on until late in the magnificent frame of the main hall of the villa, where the bar and an inviting table with “confetti” (Italian word for “sugared almonds”) of different flavours and candles were set up.

The Florentine wedding photographer, Carlo Giorgi, has brilliantly captured the emotions of the day and we thank him for the amazing pictures:

“Jane and Paul have been a fantastic couple, their natural attitude in front of the camera has given me a burst of energy and has allowed me to represent their style at best. The panorama and the setting added the right flavour to an already perfect day!”

Jane and Paul had without any doubt a wonderful ceremony and reception surrounded by the love of their family and friends. Along with plenty of emotions they will treasure Florence forever in their hearts.

Here is what Jane says about us:

“When we first started talking about planning our wedding my husband was against finding someone to help. He thought we could avoid the expense by doing it ourselves. Since we were trying to organize the wedding from a thousand miles away and had busy work schedules, I convinced him we needed help and we were referred to Silvia. We now both agree that this was the best decision we made. We attribute the fact that the wedding was even better than we had ever hoped and went off without a single hitch to Silvia.

Silvia did all the things you might expect of a “wedding planner.” She introduced us to all the best vendors, kept our schedule and budget on track and made a million useful suggestions about accommodations, decorations, music, and all the other things you don’t know about when you start planning your wedding. But what impressed us most was that Silvia went above and beyond in ways that continually surprised us. There were times when her generosity and willingness to make things easier for us brought tears to my eyes. She helped our friends and families in ways that fell way outside her job description. Moreover, it was my husband who pointed out that we ended up saving money by hiring Silvia as she never failed to find ways to call in favours, negotiate with vendors or find less expensive ways of doing things.

Planning the wedding with Silvia was a real labour of love. She sent friendly reminders when deposits or decisions were due. On the day of the wedding we didn’t have to think about a thing. Silvia took care of every detail and we were left to have the time of our lives. The first person my husband thanked in his speech was Silvia. Not only had she given us the most stunning and relaxed wedding ever, she had become one of our close friends and we were so honoured to have shared the day and the entire experience with her.”
