A two-day wedding in Venice..Only for Fun-loving couples!

A two day Venice Wedding..

Who says a wedding should be once in a lifetime? Rim and Marco decided to shake it up a little and host their ceremony and party over two days..   What a clever way to make the most of a wedding weekend in stunning Venice with families and close friends!

Rim and Marco wanted their wedding in Venice to be simple and sweet and wanted to focus on the important stuff, their friends, family and their love. They were looking forward to enjoying their most important day with their beloved ones and were aware that the excitement and frenziness of the wedding day might not have allowed them the kind of attention to their closest friends they were hoping for.

Despite Marco’s Italian origin, many of their close friends and family had never been to Venice, so they decided to throw a destination wedding in Venice. Venice has such a rich history, amazing sights, incredible food and wine, so they really wanted to showcase the city for their guests.

Thrilled at the idea of getting married in gorgeous Venice, they were additionally fascinated by the many wonderful venues located in the surroundings, where the famous architect Andrea Palladio built many of his astonishing villas.

Therefore Rim and Marco made few key decisions that shaped their wedding: a small and private celebration on day one and a lavish party with all friends two days later.

Rim and Marco really wanted the wedding to reflect their love for travel, for great food, wine and fun time.

They had fun playing with their outfits for the civil ceremony: Rim opted for a geometrical dress with optic effects while Marco opted for bright red accessories that he carried with great non-chalance.

…and the buttonhole with the chilli was a special touch!

The intimate civil ceremony in Venice with only immediate family in attendance was held in the perfectly maintained Cavalli Palace, a wonderful building from the 15th century few steps away from the worldly famous Rialto Bridge!

After the ceremony the newlyweds enjoyed a stroll in the tiny and traditional streets of Venice, admiring S. Marco Plaza, stopping in the colourful shops and buildings.

Followed by an informal aperitif with their closest friends and family in a traditional Venetian “bacaro”, a bar where you can enjoy local specialties and drink wine.

A couple of days after they celebrated a sumptuous Catholic ceremony in a spectacular church in the hinterland close to Venice, in the country of origin of Marco.

Fun fact: Marco reached the church by motorbike!

The ceremony was followed by a majestic reception with all their guests at the breathtaking Villa Contarini, wich perfectly enclosed the mood and atmopshere they were going for, a bucolic environment with sights on the luxuriant Venetian countryside! Although the villa is extremely elegant Rim and Marco wanted the reception to be casual and fun.

The elegant three course dinner was served at the table in the ancient inner rooms, followed by a sweet buffet in the garden. To surprise and thank the guests, a spectacular firework display. Lots of fun, full of laughter and extra special!!

Dare yourself to make your wedding as unique as you can and make your wedding stand out from the rest!

Our 5 piece of advice to make it extra special:

1) Design a wedding that reflects who you are as a couple and don’t worry too much about what other people are going to think: keep the traditional formalities that are important to you. Incorporate special memories, interests and hobbies.

2) Surround yourself with trusted and skilled suppliers that fully share your vision. During the day hiccups and stress can occur; talented professionals that you like and trust will definitely provide a sense of security and allow you to relax and enjoy the days.

3) Personalize your wedding ceremony: Readings, music and vows are the elements that can make it “feel right”. One good tip is to keep your vows short, simple and from the heart!

4) Invest in photography: After the day is over, photographs and video will play a big part in how you remember it all. Work with your photographer closely to schedule the sessions for the day and be sure to leave plenty of time for candid shots to capture your personalities and emotions.

5) Make your guests feel welcomed and cared for and have them play an active role during the day. While the wedding is all about you, letting the guests know how important they are will turn out on a meaningful and memorable day!
