Wedding Reception Venues in Venice

Romantic Hideaway - Wedding in Venice - Italian Wedding Planners

Finding and deciding your reception venue and your guest accommodation will be the most difficult part of your wedding planning. Every wedding party has differing criteria which has to match with the unique characteristics of your chosen venue. There is a solution for every couple. Our task is discovering the one for you!

In Venice there are two types of venues for a wedding reception. Palazzos that you hire by the day and have little or no accommodation for guests or hotels where you and your guests can stay and you can also have your wedding reception there.

Palazzos

The wealthy merchants of the golden age of Venice built fine palazzos for themselves throughout the city with the most majestic being alongside the Grand Canal. Now these buildings are majestic throwbacks to a bygone era of limitless wealth and power through world trade. They are of all sizes and locations with some for smaller parties of up to 50 guests or the largest ones can hold receptions for several hundred people. Generally they will have water frontage to allow for a Gondola arrival from your wedding ceremony or you may wish to have the wedding ceremony in the Palazzo overlooking the water as many have terraces.

Apart from the spectacular buildings, Palazzos give the wedding couple something that is difficult to find in Venice: exclusivity and a sense that you are not being overlooked.

Very few Palazzos have any accommodation and those that do only have a few rooms and certainly not enough for a wedding of any size. Therefore we will organize hotel accommodation for your guests.

Hotels

Venice is awash with hotels of all standards and sizes. It is the densest location of hotels in the world and also contains the hotels that command the highest prices in the world. There are also some reasonably priced hotels in very good areas of the city but these will be for accommodation only and not to have your reception. The larger hotels will have their own restaurant with a suitable space for a reception for varying numbers of guests. The real difference is when restaurants overlook water or even better the Grand Canal. For these hotels they truly become world class wedding reception venues with very little to match them in the aspiration stakes.
